Privateer Weekend V - at Diecon 12

Play like you have a pair.... a saying adopted by Privateer Press when Prime originally released. A saying that epitomizes the Privateer Weekend experience at Diecon every year. 2012 represents Privateer Weekend's fifth year and it will be more brutal and more fun than ever. Players from all across America will descend on St. Louis on June 22nd-24th to show they truly have a pair. The competition is nothing short of spetacular, the modeling exquiste, and the comradier is better than all else. Privateer weekend consists of 3 days of crueling, spine crushing, cortex smashing fun that only those who truly have a pair can hope to survive.

You want the fun and competition and we are delivering in spades.


Friday, June 22nd:
1) 35 Point Standard 2012 Steamroller

• Two Lists Required
• Divide and Conquer
• Limited Round Count (if necessary - Determined before the start of the tournament)
• Finals Tables (if necessary - Determined before the start of the tournament)

2) 20 Point Mangled Metal/Tooth and Claw Hardcore

• One List Required
• Hardcore Painting Required
• Hardcore Time Limits
• Assassination and Warjack/Warbeast Elimination
• Artifice: Kill Box
• Assassin Scoring

Saturday, June 23rd:
3) Hardcore: The ultimate mark of powerhis is a 50pt official Hardcore!

• One List Required
• Hardcore Painting Required
• Hardcore Time Limits
• Scenario: Close Quarters
• Artifice: Kill Box
• Assassin Scoring
• $10 entry fee. Please specify the name you would like on your tag when you preregister.

4) 35 point Highlander Event (Concurrent with Hardcore)

• Casual Time Limits

Sunday, June 24th:
5) Warmachine Weekend Invitational Qualifier – Standard 50pt SR 2012 event

• Two Lists Required
• Divide and Conquer

6) Teirs for Fears (Concurrent with the Warmachine Weekend Qualifier)

• Teir 3 Required
• Limited Round Count (if necessary - Determined before the start of the tournament)
• Finals Tables (if necessary - Determined before the start of the tournament)

Weekend Long Events:

• Painting Competion - More information will be forthcoming.
• Trivia accompanying every event as well as some extras for more chances to win.
• Casual Games.
• Tide of war throughout the weekend. Every tournament will be tracked to determine the overall winner. This year's winner will receive a fully painted Captain Damiano Tier 4 Theme Force!

Please Note: To participate in the Privateer Weekend events, you must purchase a DieCon 12 badge. The badges are on sale now. You can pre-register for a mere $26.00. While Saturday's Hardcore event has an entry fee of $10.00, the rest of the Privateer Weekend events have no additional cost.

DieCon is held in the Collinsville Convention Center of Collinsville, IL, which is part of the St. Louis Metropolitan area. You can find all kinds of deals in the hotels surrounding the convention center. Please refer to the DieCon website for assistance in locating proper lodging.

Wow, hardcore time limits in a 50pt steamroller!?!?! That's serious business! Not only that, but it's the WMW qualifier. Is this an error?

Question? Will cNemo's tier be legal for the tier tourney? I know models aren't legal unless they are released but I am unsure about tier lists that are in upcoming books.

Also what about the highlander format. I have seen it ran a couple of different ways and 35 points seems like we will have to be able to bring more than one jack/beast. Also are Battle Engines allowed in this Highlander? Will you be able to take more than one weapon attachment? Like if you bring Winter Guard can you take 3 rocketeers?

Here's a few quick answers... In case your wondering I'm Head Judge of the event.

Nemo3 and Stormwall are legal to use as you would expect since they are officially released before the convention, Nemo3's Theme list is NOT legal as the book has not been officially released so that everyone has access to it.

Highlander Event - All FA's become "C" so you can only have one of any specific model... WA's get around this as they are one FA that can have up to three models (usually). So you can feel free to completely trick out a unit. Other rules of note... you MUST have one and only one of the following Warlock/Warcaster, Unit (as tricked out as you'd like), and Solo. All remaining points are spent on Warbeasts or Warjacks. "Free" models that come with something do NOT count against or for any of the requirements. You can take a Battle Engine if you'd like but it eats up/fills the solo slot in the list.

I'd like to thank everyone who attended and helped out over the weekend, as I get time I'll be compiling all the weekend data like I did last year. I'll also be posting winning lists and the like.

Overall we had a great weekend and there will be a Privateer Weekend VI in 2013. I look forward to seeing you all again next year!
