Would it be weird to steal this scheme and use it on a Gallant? I love the idea and execution is doable, but I has no beasties to speak of. . .

Really nicely done. Someone with lesser skills could easily make this like like crap but you have executed the idea perfectly. It's really beautiful with the subdued markings being a favourite point of mine.

The airbrush was certainly handy for this particular project, especially since there was a lot of flesh to work with. I originally bought it a few years ago for vehicle models from "the other firm", for pre-shading and what-not, but I've since re-discovered its virtues in painting my beasts. I cannot WAIT to get my hands on a Colossal...
I do have a home-made light box for taking photos. When I wrap this guy up, I'll break it out, and see if I can't take some zazzy pics of the final product.

Whoa. I think my favorite part of this paint job so far is the beautiful blue-purple-orange gradation in the mouth area, which Mnkylord certainly didn't need to do, but man, it makes the whole thing stunning and otherworldly. The light striations and veining in the underside of the wings are very nice and subtle. It's not something you'll see on the game table, but the attention to detail makes this truly display-worthy.

Sorry, guys.
I would have loved to have finished him up this past weekend, but we had the small matter of a tornado blitzing its way through the area, destroying some neighbors' homes and what-not (including my father's next door neighbors). Needless say, it was a pretty hectic affair that didn't allow much time for self indulgent super fun hobby times.
Don't worry, I'm not letting this one go!
