Suppressing Fire question

I searched and didn't find these questions about SF.

1. Is there anything that prevents a unit of 10 Rifle Corps from placing 3 x 3 inch AOEs or would that have to be a 1 x 5 inch AOE. In essence, do I have options on how I distribute the suppressing fire order among my 10 troopers.

2. If a suppressing fire template is placed and the some of the rifle corps become engaged, is the SF template affected by the fact 2-3 of the participants are now engaged?

1. You do not get an option. You only get one AOE.

2. Being engaged afterwards will have no effect on the AOE.
