Homebrew model of the month
.... is not decided yet, but I would like to dedicate this thread to nominate one.
This is the flowchart, of how this thread is supposed to work:
a)People read someone's homebrew, and found themselves having a good time reading it. They open this thread, post a link to the other thread, and a paragraph about why they enjoyed reading it. Stuff like: "that is just what official model/unit x needs for me to make any sense at all" or "I don't care, if this is broken, I spilled my coffee through the nose while reading it" goes here.
For the sake of devoting yourself to the dictatorial whims of the OP, make it one short paragraph. More than one sentence, less than 300 or so words.
b)Rate your proposal according to the following criteria's
Rule Precision: 0 would be "I don't really have a clue, how this is supposed to work ruleswise", to 10 "Uses 100% PP nomenclatura, Rules as Intended and Rules as Written fit perfectly, noone can misunderstand, what this is supposed to do."
Immediate Urgency: 0 would be a model, which could only be good on Haley's feat turn, and would basically force the opponent to wear a hat, false glasses with a moustache and a funny nose, while suffering through the embarrassment of having to ask, which model to activate next.
I think 10 is atm an illusory rating. Should PP ever happen to release an official model, that automatically wins every game, whenever it is dropped on the table, even by an average 12-y old, then a homebrew model, that fixes the problem in a very funny way would be a 10. The highest rating, that I could think of atm is a 5 or 6 for an UA or WA, that would make the Farrow Brigands an interesting thought to include in one of the Hordes Factions, without breaking them, when run by Carver. Probably some people could imagine more urgent bug fixes on something.
Imagination: 0 would be a rules copy of an existing model, just enough modified to work in a different faction, where it would provide a boring standard buff, like it did in the faction of origin. With not even a proper name or any explanation of how this guy/gal/beast/thing/unit.. could exist in the Iron Kingdoms.
10 would be appropriate, when reading the thread induced an immediate lapse into nerdy daydreams, filled with steam-powered robots and/or painted tin soldiers in you. You know, like reading PP's stuff about your current favorite model did.
c) Read other people's proposal's. List all other proposals. Rate them.
d) On march 15th I, Thamarite Merc, will declare an official Best Homebrew model of February 2012
e) Privateer Press will be so sorrowly impressed by this thread, and the fantastic homebrew of the month, that they will immediately make it an official model, give the forum member, who came up with it a livelong artists contract, and will forever be praising the genius of Thamarite Merc in all their publications. Or not. Probably rather not.
