Default Crazy idea for possible warcaster

I was talking with my roommate and fellow WM/H enthusiast last night about stuff we want to see in future expansions, and something that I think would be pretty slick is a straight incorp caster. Now, before you have an aneurysm over the thought, hear me out. Typical Cryxian warcaster stats tend to be 15-16, with 17 or so HP. Since this hypothetical caster is going to have the undoubtedly powerful defensive measure of incorp, I would propose balancing it around him being 13-15 with 14 HP. After all, Nemo, Severius, and Vayl have pretty garbage stats to make up for their high focus/fury, why not do something similar? And the other thing that I think would make an incorp caster balanced, all things considered, is that he have no melee or ranged weapons, similar to Rasheth.

So with garbage defensive stats, and no weapons, he would only be able to make an effect via his spells, abilities, and feat, with incorp being his main form of defense. And anyone that brings Aiyana and Holt, or ATGM, or Doom Reavers, or Exemplars, or Myrmidons will be able to ignore incorp easily enough. Personally, I would hope for a Lich Lord Fulmenus or Tenebrus as they are the incorp lich lords. Thoughts?

The Hordes rulebook says that one cannot literally damage a warbeast's spirit. Our Dragonfather would like a word with you...

While I do like the idea, I cant help but think that having a full time incorp caster will just lead to a larger proliferation of lists designed to counter that exact ability.

Maybe instead of no weapons, perhaps something like a pain touch that deals only one point of damage. It will give a melee threat range, but makes a caster assassination far from easy.

my issue is that it's too easy for your enemy to have magic weapons and with trash stats beyond that you are pretty much just going to die everytime unless you face off against someone how doesn't have magic weapons. Which I think is pretty rare, at least in my meta. Most everyone who plays where I do has magic weapons all over the place. I actually think that gimping the stat line for that is really just gimping the caster as a whole.

The enemy is one merc unit away from an easy caster kill. That's my opinion on it anyway.

Virtually every warcaster/warlock has a magic weapon, so this model would be more susceptible to assassination casters than usual.

But if their feat sticks with the idea, and say something like EVERYTHING gains incorporeal and magic weapons for your turn, I think people wouldnt mind having a more breakable 'Caster

When introducing your own rules, there's always a risk of people just rejecting your idea outright and refusing to allow it. For that reason, it's much better to use less radical ideas or designs that are not prone to produce argument.

Maybe the caster has an upkeep spell with a SELF range that gives incorp and is mandatory? That would effectively lower the Focus and also leave the character vulnerable to dismissal-of-spell effects.
