I play Khador, Minions, and soon to be Convergence of Cyriss.
Hope lost.
WARMACHINE/Hordes no more.
They have see Soviet Era Russia or even slavery.
'Joking' aside, this is a very strange model to use to develop software. I cannot really see why any company wanting to release a product with the exposure levels of war room, would even think about hooking up with a company using it.
I was hoping for a release today, but alas nothing.
Hopefully there will be an announcement today in regards a definitive release date.

It's the 18th of May. The window of "Mid-May" is nearly over. With all of the things that need to happen to release the software once it's "done" PP would know by now whether they're on track to release on the latest timeline. The fact that we haven't heard anything is disconcerting.
I feel for PP that they're at the mercy of third parties for delivery. Software development is hard, and they're catering to a vocal and demanding customer base. War Room has certainly been a difficult endeavor for them. But, it's their own fault that we have such high expectations. The quality of pretty much everything that PP puts out is one of the main reasons I took the plunge into Warmachine. War Room is being measured by the same ruler.
Putting the kibosh on iBodger hasn't helped the situation, but we don't know what motivated that decision. Third party tools are GOOD for a gaming system. The players get the tools without PP having to spend time and money on development. It's a win-win situation. PP is a sharp group that typically looks out for their players but this was a decision that seemed to go against their typical approach. A lot of folks, myself included, are frustrated and confused by the stance PP took on iBodger. Again, there must be a lot more behind that decision than we're privy to.
I would just like to know how the development is going. Today would be a fine day for a War Room release, by the way.

I Know right, those idiots at PP keep putting out such awesome stuff that we are entitled to express righteous indignation about a piece of software being delayed.
As I said before PP is working with a contractor. And already working with contractors is a mixed bag. Obviously they are having problems with either said contractor, or Apple, or Amazon or some other third party.
I honestly feel bad for the people at PP. I only wish that they would give us a bit more information as to the release.

I'm not so concerned with the Delays as I am with how much of this going forward may or may not be done in house. Is PP going to be dependent on Tinkerhouse to make any additions to the app, such as new cards or tier lists? If they aren't going to be able to update the app themselves, what will happen if Tinkerhouse goes under? Hopefully the contract has PP getting a full copy of the source code when the product is delivered, so that they won't be stuck should something happen to Tinkerhouse.

I now fear this will go the way of Armies/Enemies of the Imperium. For those who don't know, this was GWs "Official" list builder. Support started of bad and went to nothing quickly, and it wasn't even that great as a list builder.
I think it was more the "official" Jumping of the Shark for GW becoming $W.
I think the assumption everyone has had is that there is not going to be ongoing development on Tinkerhouse's part, as this explains a great deal why they are implementing theme forces the way they are: Some theme forces required actual coding in iBodger, and it is unlikely it would be any different for Warroom, and if there was no contract for ongoing development there is no way that this coding could be done. Most likely it is being built in a way that PP can just drop additional cards into the app as needed.
?Those of you that survive will walk at my shoulder, undefeatable and forged in blood your victories will be spoken of in legends yet to come. They will know you not by name for from this day on you have none, they will know you instead as the invincible Gods of War, the wise, the cunning , the kings of battle! Lords of war! You will be my Tyrants!?
The thing I think people continually take for granted is just how much time and effort whicken put into keeping iBodger up to date, particularly as theme forces kept finding new ways to break the rules of list building. Putting that effort in for the few theme forces that have been released since the War Room announcement just so the app is up to date until the very second its replaced would be time and effort I'm sure whicken would rather put towards something new.

I think I remember reading somewhere that part of the reason Tinkerhouse got the job was that they're Hordes/Warmachine players themselves, or at least some of them. So I'm fairly sure they're not just going to hand it over to PP and walk away.

If all else fails, counterattack. At least you'll go down with dice in your hand.
Lose or win gracefully and with good humor, and you will never lack for opponents.
Always remember the dice hate everyone. That includes you.
Clearly it is everyone but PP's fault. I mean Apple, Google? Privateer picked Tinkerhouse, Apple didn't, Google didn't, these are growing pains of a company entering into a new area of business. Now my personal thoughts on Tinkerhouse would be redacted so instead they will be omitted. I am not blaming Privateer because they are coming from a primarily print background, they are not a Dev shop. But stating the reason for delay was for the Ipad3, common there are enough of us techies out there to know that is a fine suite of clothes the emperor is wearing.
I schedule software release all the time. They do slip nature of the beast bugs are found, but blaming Apple/Google is kinda silly since you had already planned to use their distribution infrastructure. No one is making you write the app for that platform. Yes I know if you want to develop for Ipad you have to use their store. If you want use a electronic PP list manager you have to use War Room... Hmmmmmmmm
