What are the major differences? I have a player wanting to use an AM in an upcoming campaign but I'm not sure of the differences to be able to recommend which version he should roll.

IIRC, the Liber Mechanika version is updated to be a bit better/more relevant
Active PbP Characters:
Vyral: Hijinks on the High Seas
Oz: Fires Within
Jorgrin Skullsplitter: Salvation
Definitely LM!
Agreed. I started mine with the CG, then updated him when LM came out, and was happy for it!
The LM version is superior and more fun. I would never even consider the CG one anymore.

This is the way the world ends.
Differences off the top of my head:
*Recharging accumulators via arcane condensation is changed from a 2-to-1 spell levels to charges to 1-to-1 ratio. Use a third level spell, get three charges,
*Class unique abilities such as Arcane Overload and Attune Mechanika.
*Fabrication bonus- reduce the cost and XP outlay of building Mechanika based on level.
You still get cool things like mechanikal familiars and Mechanikal Innovations, but the class presented in the LM has a lot more advantages.
Corruption's a lot of fun, are you sure you don't want to try it?
It also has AM Prestige classes!
