Heck i recently bought a transformer prime, not especially for warroom but it will be very nice

I'm liking mine very much. Although I AM still waiting for it to transform and destroy my enemies..... But that's a whole different matter.

As for War Room, I wouldn't count on seeing it for AT LEAST another week. They did say Spring, which doesn't begin til the 20th. As a software developer however, I do concure with the others that 'March' usually means the last business day of the month, which for this month is the 30th.

I hope, for their sake, they don't release on a Friday. Friday releases means the devs and QA team get no weekend as they deal with hair-on-fire bugs as the entire userbase has a couple days off to hammer the app. Monday releases, people!

With the app store you can't get a bugfix out for a week anyway, so weekend releases don't matter quite as much. Of course their server side architecture is a different matter entirely, and I'm fully expecting it to be flaky when the app first goes live. You can't size something to handle the launch day traffic without grossly overspending on it and basically wasting capacity for the rest of the life of the product.

I'm new to the hobby, but I do intend on getting (deep breath) the whole war room package because I recently started collecting a Circle army as well as Menoth and Khador....

But, being new, do you think PP will announce the exact date, then release...or do we think it'll just drop in the App store one day?

Yup, that's about the right answer. It could be either or. Most models have an exact date of release, where stuff like the black dragon IFP was available the moment they were announced.

In the apple store submission portal you can either

1) Set an app to go live as soon as its passed Apple QA.

or

2) Set a date for the app to go live if it passes QA before then.

However there is no way of knowing when something will finish going through Apple QA, its a fairly nebulous process.

How the Google/Android store works? Honestly I have no idea if the process is similar, faster or slower.

So far as I know there is no QC process on the Android, so they could just set a date. Or just put it up the day Apple gives them the go ahead. But I could be wrong.

This is correct, once you submit something for Android its live almost immediately. In my experience most people will wait until the iOS version of an app has passed apple before even submitting for Android, that way they go live at about the same time.

If i remember correctly, apps have to pass the QA process for the android market THEN it can go through the same process for amazon to get on their version of the android market for the fire. So its basically double the work of the apple approval process (if all processes are equal). having an Iphone and the kindle fire, I'm hoping its a staggered release. That way I can have the app for a few days, then it will make the jump to a larger screen with better battery life.

Its a completely separate submission portal and process then the statndard android market. The Amazon store actually has a QA approval process.

I cannot wait for War Room and while my budget for gaming has drastically lowered I don't see how I can justify buying less than the full package.

The only problem is that if you shoot for Mar 31 and then say "out in March", you're pretty much guaranteed to be delayed and miss your deadline.

I have no idea when they plan to release it, but if they want it out in March they had better have it in Apple's approval process sometime next week.

On the recent Lost Hemisphere podcast, they... didnt say anything about the interviewer saying March release. They also didn't talk like the app was just wrapping up and submitting to Apple etc. He made it sound like the app was still basically in development. I believe the interview was conducted right around the time the Stormwall appeared on the front page.
