Defensive Strike - Once per turn, when an enemy model advances into and ends its movement in this modelʼs melee range, this
model can immediately make one normal melee attack against it.
Hi guys, regarding defensive strike. What if the target is already engaged in close combat with the model in melee last turn and it chose to remain in melee range of the defensive model during its activation? Does the defensive strike still trigger? Or does it only work against targets have entered "then" ended movement inside defensive striking's model's melee range?

thx

Your example will not work because the model has to advance into and end it's movement in the model's melee range. If it is already in it cannot advance into melee range and will not meet the requirement to trigger Defensive Strike. Since it says "and" a model has to do both to trigger Defensive Strike.
