View Full Version : Bloat Thrall Blast or Not?

Hi

I was wondering if someone could clarify a particular situation for me, for future games.

A bloat thrall uses Despoiler to hit, but NOT directly hit, a unit that is immune to blast damage. Does this damage the unit as it is corrosion damage, or does it count as blast and therefore do nothing. There is no wording about "blast" or "models under the template" so I wasn't sure.

We've been playing it as they ARE immune, but just wanted to be sure.

Thanks!

AoEs that do not state otherwise cause blast damage to models hit (but not directly hit; that one takes full, non-blast damage). It is possible for damage to be of multiple types; e.g., you can have blast damage that is corrosion type damage as well.

So because it causes corrosion AND blast they still get damaged?

Just to be clear... :-)

Thanks.

It is both types. If you are immune to one, you aren't affected.

Ok.

Much clearer. Thanks guys.

Immunity to any part of an attack renders you immune to the entire attack. It does not render you immune to secondary effects however. If that Bloat Thrall had continuous effect: corrosion (it doesn't), then that would still be applied to the blast immune model.

uhh... it does not CAUSE corrosion.. it is a corrosion type damage... small difference...

Difference between :Cont-Corrosion: and :DmgType-Corrosion: is worth noting, and someone could casually (and confusingly) refer to either as "corrosion".

I was more annoyed with the inferred tone, but I take your point.

It is worth noting.
