Witch Hound says: When a model in Reznik's battle group is hit by an
enemy magic attack a member of Reznik's battle group can advance and
make a normal melee attack.

I'm at work at the moment, so that's not a direct quote.

I'm reading Witch Hound to mean that whenever gun mages, the broken 13th, or a caster shoot one of Reznik's jacks (or Reznik) that Witch Hound triggers... ya know since they're all "magic" attacks.

They are not magic attacks. They are ranged attacks with the magical effect. There is a difference.

Magic attacks are specifically referenced in Prime MK II as generated by spellcasters, either focus users, fury users, or models with a Magic Ability [x].

Long and short, Witch Hound only triggers off "spells"

Magical attacks, which are attacks made by weapons with the Magical Weapon advantage, are not magic attacks.
