Can Butcher3 charge a model with counter charge then cast impending doom pulling it into his Melee range? Also would the counter charge go off due to him stopping and casting the spell.

misread the question - Alviaran has it right

1. butch 3 doesnt have counter charge.
2. possible you meant relentless charge?
3. If butcher charges a model, and doesnt end his movement within melee range of charge target, he fails his charge and activation end.

The OP is not implying Butcher has Counter Charge I think. Butcher is charging a model who has Counter Charge.

If Butcher charges such a model and makes a successful charge (ie target in his melee range) then they cannot Counter Charge him.

If Butcher charges them and doesn't make it (failed charge), then his activation is over.

If Butcher charges a model, he ends his movement. At that point, the model chooses to trigger Counter Charge or not. If they do, resolve their Counter Charge completely (movement and attack) before continuing the Butcher's activation. He does not have a chance to cast a spell between ending his movement and them Counter Charging.

I imagine part of the question on the timing arose from the possibility of a model Counter Charging one of his dogs and then using Impending Doom to pull them away from the dog or ending his movement and pulling them in before they get to Counter Charge, but it doesn't work. He ends his movement and Counter Charge goes first.
