The Retribution Destor Thane has Virtuoso, and a Special Attack on his ranged weapon. Is he allowed to charge a model then use his Special Attack, or only his normal ranged attack?

My understanding is that since the Special Attack is instead of his entire combat action, he would not be able to still get his normal melee attack and take a ranged Special Attack.

Just clarifying based on what I've heard elsewhere.

Special Attack consumes all initial attack. Strictly, when your model does attack in action, you can choose to do either melee or ranged attack, and choose to do either initial or special attack. Because you choose special attack so you can't do any initial attack.

Weapon Flatform ability allows to do both melee special attack and ranged initial attack, but Virtuoso did not provide that. So the answer is no.

Thank you. The Virtuoso vs Weapon Platform distinction is a helpful comparison.
