View Full Version : Covenant of Menoth vs Freezing Grip

One member of a unit of Exemplar Errants are outside of CMD range of the Covenant, which has declared Power of Faith, making models in the command area immune to stationary.

Sorscha1 casts Freezing Grip on the model outside the command range. The model/unit is hit and becomes stationary for one round. The only model that is not immune to stationary, though, is that one model. The rest do not become stationary.

The question is what happens at the start of the Menoth player's turn? When Power of Faith expires, is the *unit* sill under the effect of Freezing Grip? Do the rest become stationary for the remainder of Freezing Grip's one turn duration?

The effect is applied when the spell is cast, its not a continual effect. Power of Faith going away doesn't make them become stationary. You check when the power is applied basically.

This is of course assuming the errant banner is no longer in command or dead as well.

Yep yep, thanks.

The reason I asked, though, is that if you cast Freezing Grip on a unit, and they get some models returned to play, the returned models are stationary because it's a unit-wide effect. So in that case you *don't* check when the spell is cast.

Edit: Oh wait, never mind. That ruling was retracted. See here: https://privateerpressforums.com/showthread.php?82611-pSorscha-Freezing-Grip-and-Death-Toll
