Ok, heres a quick one. In the actual wording of counter charge it says "advance" and end activation within 6 inches and LOS. Does this mean i can charge or run by lets say Ol' Rowdy and not get counter charged?

A "charge" or "run" is an advance. If you end your movement past his LOS or outside of 6" of him however, you're fine, otherwise he sacks you.

You could also beat him to the punch (pun intended) and get into melee with him. He doesn't get to counter-charge if he's already in melee.

Thats right bastion charge your fodder... err a zealot into melee with him before you advance anything else.

As said any movement is an advance, not to be confused with "full advance" which would be a non-run/charge movement.

You could just get him to counter-charge a model with enliven on it. That can be a funny way to draw him into the threat range of a nice cheap Crusader for mucho thumping :)

An "Advance" is any voluntary movement a model makes (which includes a full advance, a run or a charge).

You can also forfeit your movement, counter charge triggers on ending of movement AND advancing. But you have to state that your forfeiting your movement otherwise you could just be considered to advance 0" This is also how you get around old witch's feat FYI. Of course this does nothing if you have only melee models, but for your zealots if the model is6 iches to beguin with you might have range with them to toss a couple bombs at with the aiming bonus for forfeiting.
