Well, amid all the hustle and bustle over homebrewing rules, perhaps it's time for some rules challenges. For the first challenges, I'll show some custom models, and let's see what our avid homebrewers can get up to. The winner, determined completely arbitrarily, will be awarded 100 Internets!

I'll do a point-by-point rundown later (once I'm at my office), but I actually think that they're nowhere near broken. They're interesting, and definitely not what I expected. The solo is pretty well balanced, but the unit I actually think is a goodly bit underpowered. RAT5 MAT5 on cavalry with no Flank potential is pretty poor, and RNG10 POW10 with a max of 6 guys for CRA is underwhelming, at best, for a 7/11 unit whose other options are a few MAT5 POW11s.

That said, I don't think it would take much to improve them, I just don't know what it would take. After reading your version, which I like (Dig In is a very interesting idea!), I personally like the idea of them being Light Cavalry instead of normal.

Also, what is Critical System Failure? Is that like Critical Amputation?

I thought MAT 5 would be sufficient with the Cavalry Charge bonus, but it could be upped, I guess.

Making them light cavalry is an interesting idea, I may play around with that.

Dig In is something they SHOULD have - I mean, they're riding Marmots!

You, of all people, should recognizse Crit. System Failure - the Driller had it in Mk I.

Changed unit to Light Cav.
Upped unit MAT to 6.
Needed to change the Elite Cadre bonus since, as Lights, they can make Mount attacks all the time anyway.
Added Combat Rider to Solo.
Up-powered the guns all around.
