When cavalry charge do their mounts get an attack? I understand that with "Combat Rider" thier mounts get to attack on those turns that they do not charge, but what about the charge turn itself?

Thanks

When a cavalry model touches another models base during a charge, if it has already moved at least 3" it gets to make impact attacks against every model (even your own) within 0.5". So, you'll get them against your charge target if you haven't made impact attacks and you touch it's base.

Or, to simplify, when you charge, you get impact attacks. When you don't, Combat Rider gives you one mount attack.

With the impact hits, do you need to be in B2B with your victim, or is 0.5" close enough to flatten them?

you need to contact (b2b) one enemy model to trigger impact hits, but it doesn't have to be your charge target. someone close to your charge taget in other words

... someone close to your charge taget in other words
or someone between you and your charge target blocking your charge lane. That's what impact attacks are actually meant for.
