Question came up, numerous times, at the local. When a model with terror or abomination moves past a model that is not fearless when does the command check take place? The main consensus is after the model has finished movement all non-fearless models take their respective checks. Thanks in advance I guess.

Models take a command check as soon as they interact with the effect. In the case of Terror it is as soon as they are in the melee range of the model with it. With Abomination it is as soon as they get within 3".

It might help to imagine it the way you place models when a free strike would impede or destroy that model. The model is placed at the exact position it would be leaving the striker's melee range, which enabled the free strike.

If a check for proximity to a terrifying entity is caused during normal movement, that check is taken after normal movement (in case of a unit, the whole unit's) is finished.

If it happens at any other time (even during other advances), the check is taken immediatly.

See p. 84f of Prime for the details.
