With regards to what? Blast damage can be boosted by using a focus just as any other boost or ability that boosts blast damage... Is that what you meant?

Well, you can (usually) boost blast damage, but you have to do it on a per-model basis.

Example: Say you have 1 dude under the template that deviated onto him. If this was normally a damage roll you could boost, you could spend the 1 focus and boost it on the poor slob.

Example 2: Say you have a template that's covering 3 guys. You only have 2 focus to spend for boosting. You can boost on 0, 1, or 2 of the guys, and whichever ones you choose, but you have to pay 1 focus for each damage roll you boost.

more what i was thinking is like if a spell says boost all ranged attack and damage rolls does that include the blast damage

Yes, that would boost all blast damage too, since blast damage is a damage from a ranged attack. Which ability/spell are you thinking about?

not sure.... we had a question when i was playing the other day not sure if it was from khador or cygnar but if it says all damage rolls it is for the blast damage too correct?

Yep, that's generally correct. Some interactions might be different, so it can't always be applied, that's why I asked which abilities you were thinking about :)

It's in the rule book...

p. 59 "...suffers a blast damage roll of 2d6 + 1/2 POW. Make separate damage rolls against each model in the AOE; each roll must be boosted individually."

That doesn't apply in cases where a spell or ability allows for boosting all damage rolls on a ranged attack; since that spell would boost all blast damage rolls as well, since they are damage rolls from a ranged attack.

The original question was when does blast damage get boosted. The rule on p. 59 explains how to boost blast damage. If the OP has a question about a specific spell or ability they need to include it in a post.

He elaborated on his question in post #4.

Fire Effect from eIrusk does this type of auto boosting damage on first ranged attack.

Fire for Effect does indeed boost the attack and damage rolls for an AoE on the first ranged AoE attack.

"Fire for Effect - Boost the attack and damage rolls of target friendly Faction modelʼs first ranged attack each activation."

This is why Thor Tuning Up the Ghordson Avalancher is going to be the new hotness. Add in Durgen's feat for POW 7 + 4d6. Makes me want to do my happy dance just thinking about it.

Any other circumstance, you can boost blast damage caused by a warnoun on a per-roll basis. As in soon as a single AOE hits Eiryss, that sucker is getting boosted.
