Scenario: there are two min choirs and a couple jacks in the battle group.

Choir sings Battle hymn and gives all the jacks +2 attack/damage rolls

Jacks activate and take advantage of the bonuses.

Second choir now sings Passage hymn to keep jacks from being targeted by ranged attacks.

Is there something that keeps this from working?

Yes. Warjacks may only be the recipient of one Hymn per turn.

Warjacks may only be the recipient of one Hymn per turn.
Which is stated explicitly in the Battle Hymn special rules.

Doesn't it also say that the Choir has to target one model? I'm assuming that each unit of choir has a single Warjack that they sing for, not more than one Warjack.

I'd have to double-check, but I'm pretty sure the whole unit uses the same hymn but each model can target a different jack.

That would be amazing because it would mean that I've been playing my choir wrong this entire time, and they are much more useful than I imagined.

correct. The choir unit as a whole choses which Hymm, but then each member of the unit can select their own jack to affect.

Yes, that is what the ability says.

Post 2 is correct with respect to the original question, too.

You can still use two choirs in order to buff seperate 'jacks with different things (as in choir unit A buffs crusader with hymn of battle while choir unit b buffs the reckoner with safe passage), but the 'jacks can't take on multiple choir buffs in a single turn.
