View Full Version : Charging and Spd penalties/spd bonus removed

A pair of questions came up recently.

#1: What happens when you are charging and gain a speed penalty mid-charge. An example would be a free strike from a model with Weight of Stone.

Say you are making a charge that you have range for, and mid-charge you take a free strike from model with Weight of Stone.

Do you:
1: Stop at the moment you take the penalty.
2: Continue till you reach the end of your movement, applying the penalty from Weight of Stone (and thus ending up 3 inches short of where you otherwise would have)
3: Continue till you reach the point you normally would have, disregarding the penalty until the advance is complete.

#2: What happens when you are moving with a movement increasing animus (bounding, rush, whatever), and it expires mid advance. For example you are having a warbeast charging Mulg. You have Rush/Bounding on your beast, and Mulg has his animus up. When you hit Mulg's command range, Rush expires.

Do you:
#1: Keep going the increased distance
#2: Stop at your unbuffed distance

Subquestion: If Answer 2, and you are in the section of the advance permitted by the expired buff, would you stop immediately?

ad 1: It's your third option. Current SPD + 3" refers to the moment the charging model starts moving, so later changes are irrelevant. (cf. here (https://privateerpressforums.com/showthread.php?28728-Change-to-SPD-during-Activation&p=420925&viewfull=1#post420925))

ad 2: Should be option one, as far as I can tell.
By the way, you're misunderstanding Mulg's animus, it only causes animi to expire at the time it is used.
