Sylys and spiritual conduit

This probably sounds daft, but if inhospitable ground is cast by a caster, and its a self rng spell, would spiritual conduit extend the inhospitable ground 2 inches beyond the casters control area.
I think i just answered it myself while typing, i presume not, because its effectiveness still remains only in the casters control area?

A range SELF spell can only be cast on the model casting it. (Prime Mk II, page 76, definition of RNG). Adding 2" to the range of the spell doesn't change that.

And changing the RNG of a spell doesn't change the area of effect of a spell, either.
